Women’s Wellness ~ Hydration

emmastaplesfitness

Week 4 of the Women's Wellness Focus ~ It's all about the importance of being well hydrated .

Here are just a few reasons why Good hydration is essential for Women's Health and beauty ~

1. Skin health: Adequate hydration helps maintain skin elasticity, firmness, and overall appearance. Well-hydrated skin is less prone to dryness, flakiness, and wrinkles, contributing to a youthful and radiant complexion.

2. Hormonal balance: Proper hydration supports hormonal balance, which is crucial for women’s reproductive health, menstrual regularity, and menopausal transition. Hormonal fluctuations can affect skin condition, mood, energy levels, and overall well-being, and staying hydrated can help mitigate these effects.

3. Digestive health: Hydration is essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption, which can impact skin health, energy levels, and overall vitality. Drinking enough water helps prevent constipation and bloating, promoting a flat stomach and comfortable digestion.

4. Hair health: Hydration is vital for maintaining hair strength, elasticity, and shine. Dehydrated hair is more prone to breakage, split ends, and dullness. Drinking enough water nourishes the scalp and hair follicles, promoting healthy growth and minimizing hair loss.

5. Weight management: Staying hydrated can support weight management efforts by promoting feelings of fullness and satiety, reducing the likelihood of overeating or snacking on unhealthy foods. Additionally, dehydration can sometimes be mistaken for hunger, leading to unnecessary calorie consumption.

6. Energy levels and mood: Proper hydration is essential for maintaining energy levels, cognitive function, and mood stability. Dehydration can lead to feelings of fatigue, irritability, and brain fog, affecting productivity, motivation, and overall quality of life.

In summary, good hydration is a cornerstone of women’s health and beauty, supporting skin health, hormonal balance, digestive function, hair health, weight management, and overall well-being. Prioritizing hydration through regular water intake and hydrating foods can contribute to a vibrant, youthful appearance and optimal health from the inside out.

Hydration truly is essential , tea , coffee , fizzy drinks etc do not help hydrate the body BUT water , herbal teas , clear broths as well as water rich fruits and veggies will .

💡Top water tip ~ use a natural charcoal filter . I have one in a glass carafe in my fridge at all times . Not all water tastes the same and naturally filtering is fantastic .

How do you start your day ? With tea or coffee? Or do you reach for a large glass of water ?

Pictured above is the ELIXIR which I drink every single day . It's a mixture of freshly squeezed lemon , organic apple cider vinegar & Himalayan salt . WHY ? Here are a few reasons for you ~

1.Hydration: Lemon juice mixed with water helps to hydrate the body after a night’s sleep, which is essential for overall health and hormonal balance.

2.Digestive Aid: Apple cider vinegar may support digestion by stimulating stomach acid production, which can help alleviate bloating and digestive discomfort common during perimenopause.

3.Alkalising Effect: Despite being acidic, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar have an alkalizing effect on the body when metabolized, which may help counteract the acidity that can exacerbate symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings.

4.Electrolyte Balance: Himalayan salt contains essential minerals like potassium and magnesium, which are important for maintaining electrolyte balance. This can help reduce muscle cramps and support hormone regulation.

5.Detoxification: Lemon juice and apple cider vinegar may aid in detoxification by supporting liver function, which is crucial for metabolizing hormones and removing toxins from the body.

6.Blood Sugar Regulation: Some research suggests that apple cider vinegar may help regulate blood sugar levels, which can be beneficial for managing weight and reducing the risk of insulin resistance associated with hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause.

💡Top tip : when starting out start with the lemon then gradually add the ACV and HS , for exact amounts please just ask .

Clean your teeth before or half an hour after drinking .Do not sip throughout the day as we want to protect our teeth enamel .
