March signals the arrival of spring—a time of renewal and fresh beginnings. This March, I decided to embark on an exciting journey: my 30-day H2GLOW challenge. The goal? To achieve healthy, glowing skin at any age, with the simplest yet most powerful step: hydration.
As the days grow warmer and longer, it's the perfect moment to embrace our health and overall well-being. Join me as I share how this journey has transformed not just my skin, but my entire lifestyle from my energy levels to my emotional well being.
The Power of Hydration
The secret to radiant skin often lies within us. Hydration is our internal ally, flushing away toxins and ensuring our cells function optimally. When I committed to drinking enough water each day, I felt a shift not just in my skin, but in my energy and mood.
Research shows that women should aim for about 2.7 liters (91 ounces) of total water daily, which includes both beverages and food. I started carrying my water bottle everywhere, setting reminders to take regular sips. In just a week, I noticed fewer dryness and a softer complexion, with my friends commenting on the increased glow!
I think they thought I'd had botox or some other intervention.

Harnessing the Energy of March
March brings a vibrant energy that inspires us to take action. I prioritised self-care through the H2GLOW challenge by incorporating daily workouts, balanced eating, and of course, hydration. I quickly noticed improvements in my skin’s texture and overall radiance.
As the flowers bloom and the sun shines longer, I felt encouraged to step outside and be active. Whether it was my daily brisk walks in daylight or my strength training workouts, I found that prioritising my own physical activity not only boosted my confidence, but also elevated my mood and radiance. Studies indicate that regular exercise can increase skin blood flow by 40%, helping to deliver oxygen and nutrients vital for healthy skin.
Nourishing Food Choices
As I focused on hydration, I also paid close attention to my nutrition. Since moving from kent to Norkolk i've indulged in a bit more emotional eating than normal which really has taken a toll mentally & physically. The connection between nutrition and skin health is profound. My meals have returned to being rich in fruits and vegetables, providing essential vitamins. For instance, I included foods like:
Oranges: Packed with Vitamin C, they help in collagen production.
Berries: High in antioxidants, crucial for fighting skin damage.
Spinach: Loaded with iron and vitamins, great for skin repair.
Avocados: Rich in healthy fats, which keep your skin moisturized.
Starting my morning with a hydrating internal shower of a large glass of room temperature water was the first step .I have now upgraded that to the Elixir ~ a powerful mix of water , freshly squeezed lemon , Himalayan salt and organic apple cider vinegar. Top tip drink this straight down rather than through prolonged sipping as we want to protect our teeth enamel. Clean your teeth before drinking or wait for half an hour after .
Setting Realistic Goals
Reflecting on my own journey, I understood that setting achievable goals is key. It was time for me to practise what i preach. The H2GLOW challenge allowed me to assess my habits and encourage gradual changes. In the past, like most of us women i have often opted for extreme routines that have quickly fizzled out. This time, I chose consistency over perfection.
By tracking my water intake, workouts, and skin reactions each week, I developed a stronger connection to my body’s needs. For example, I noticed that after increasing my daily water intake by 33%, my skin felt distinctly more hydrated within just a few days.
Building a Supportive Community

Self-care is vital, especially for women managing various roles. I learned that dedicating time to myself—whether through a warm bath or reading a good book—nurtured my spirit and contributed to my glowing outlook. This inner peace had a noticeable effect on my skin's appearance and health.
