Do you take supplements? if you are ~ how do you know yours are working ?
If you don't take any ~ should you be?
There is so much conflicting information out there it can be very confusing indeed. So many supplements are full of synthetics, bulking agents and end up being really expensive wee as you are unable to absorb them.
I've put together a little Super 6 supps list with personal recommendations to specifically help Women feel good as well as ensure our bodies are receiving all the help that they need for general health & wellness , I've included Omega 3 ~ i've chosen Test based high quality omega 3 that contains Polyphenols (not only are these proven to work but the chaperone of the polyphenol means that the Omega 3 can reach our cells without oxidising. This oxidisation unfortunately occurs with virtually all other omega 3 supplements) as well as my other top 5 super supps.
Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid that we can not make ourselves, we have to get it from food / supplementation.
*It reduces inflammation & can help conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis,
*reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease,
*Is great for brain health ~cognitive function and helps to reduce the risk of Alzheimers.
*Mental health ~Omega 3 has be shown to alleviate depression & anxiety,
*Hormonal balance~Omega 3 can help regulate hormones , think PMT, menopause, *mood swings and hot flushes.
*Bone health ~Omega 3s help absorption of calcium and reduce the risk of Osteoporosis.
*Skin Health ~keeping skin hydrated, reducing acne & protecting against sun damage.
*Pregnancy and Fetal development~as well as reducing the risk of preterm birth and improving maternal mental health.
*Cell permeability , making sure our cell membranes is fuid allowing good stuff in and bad stuff out.
*as well as so much more.
Incorporating Omega 3 rich foods such as fatty fish, flaxseeds , chai seeds and walnuts as well as taking a high quality , proven to work supplements wil ensure our Omega health and balance is as it needs to be.
I've also included Magnesium, For me taking magnesium has been a game changer especially in relation to my sleep quality. There are many amazing benefits of taking Magnesium, here are just a few ~ bone health, menstrual health, mood regulation (something i need A LOT of help with), heart health and energy production.
Next on my list is ASHWAGANDHA ~ i take this to help lower my cortisol levels, reduce stress and anxiety , assist hormonal balance, improve sleep , energy and stamina as well as cognitive function and memory.
Vitamin B for energy production, brain health, hormonal balance pregnancy support (obvs that isn's why i'm taking) & cardiovascular support.
Prebiotic dietary fibre ~ most of us know about probiotics but it's the pre we want to be adding in daily. This is another absolute game changer for me, think gut, brain & immune health.Sugar laden diets, processed foods , synthetic contraception, medication etc all diretly messes with the gut microbiome and that balance needs to be addressed. Bloating, weight gain, constipation, IBS etc can all be dramatically improved by adding pre biotic dietry fibre.
Hormonal balance can be achieved as well as better mineral absorption for bone health and a reduced risk of Osteoporosis.
Vitamin D is for now my final recommendation BUT you do need to get tested to check your levels, those with darker skin are at a greater risk of being deficient.
Optimal Vitamni D levels are responsible for bone health, immune system support, mental health, cardiovascular health as well as chronic disease prevention.
Don't forget to get at least 10 mins outside in daylight every single day.
